BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -
Three top-20 national performances headlined an exciting night inside the Shirk Center as the Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams hosted the inaugural Jason Dennis Memorial Track Meet Friday night, Jan. 24. IWU posted a total of 37 top-two finishes.

Sophomore Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) and senior Carlyssa King (Decatur, Ill.-Maroa-Forsyth) registered some of the best marks in Division III this season, while combining for three event wins. Picking up two victories, Ogunribido recorded a mark of 12.28m (40'3.5") in the triple jump to improve her standing with the second-best mark in the nation and establish a new program record. The Hanover Park, Ill. native bested the top mark in program history, which she recorded on her first jump of the season at the Titan First Chance, Dec. 7. Her second win of the night came on the track as she was one of six Titans to qualify for the 60m final, and clocked a 7.98 to win the race.

King's win came in the weight throw, where she measured a season-best 17.01m (55'9.75") toss. Her mark ranks 12th across Division III and improved her third-ranked throw in program history.

In the women's 4x400m relay, the Titans turned in a season-best showing to edge out Division II McKendree. Juniors Bella Gonzalez (Itasca, Ill.-Lake Park) and Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High), sophomore Alex Reinhart (Normal, Ill.-Normal West), and senior Jordynn Griffin (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) crossed the finish line at 4:05.11. IWU's time ranks 23rd in Division III and came in nearly three seconds ahead of the Bearcats.

Crabtree added a win in the 800m, where she and senior Emma McGrath (Oak Lawn, Ill.-Oak Lawn) battled from start to finish. Crabtree won the race with a time of 2:22.41, while McGrath was runner-up at 2:22.84.

The men closed out the meet with a strong showing in the 4x400m relay, where senior Alex Harvey (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg), sophomores Reece Dusek (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap) and Noah Sadowski (Burr Ridge, Ill.-Hinsdale South), and junior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) teamed up for a time of 3:24.46. Illinois Wesleyan's season-best time is 19th-best nationally.

Additionally, senior Ernie Waterson (Bloomington, Ill.-Cornerstone Chirstian Academy) claimed the 800m win with a time of 1:57.65, while fellow senior Sam Okewole (Tinley Park, Ill.-Tinley Park) placed second in the triple jump as the duo turned in marks that rank top-60 across the country.

In all, Ogunribido, Harvey, sophomore Olivia Skibinski (Peoria, Ill.-Richwoods), Reinhart, Waterson, Crabtree, junior Zack Daniel (Lake Barrington, Ill.-Barrington), junior Abby Quinn (Chicago, Ill.-Marist), freshman Keagan Uphoff (McLean, Ill.-Olympia), senior Evelyn Wilson (Geneseo, Ill.-Geneseo), freshman Nick Walker (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora), junior Isaac Whitaker (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic), freshman Sophia Baczak (Aurora, Ill.-Oswego East), senior Matthew Wagner (Normal, Ill.-Central Catholic), senior CJ Ladewig (Palos Heights, Ill.-Stagg), and King hauled in individual wins.
