Maldonado Chosen to Compete in 2024 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

Game to be played Saturday, June 1, at 2 p.m. ET in Sparks, Md.

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse attacker Britney Maldonado (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant) was selected to play in the 2024 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Star Game the organization announced Wednesday, May 29. Maldonado will compete as a member of the Division III's North Team on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters Saturday, June 1, with the game slated to begin at 2 p.m. ET. 

Maldonado concluded her collegiate career with her best season for the Green and White, and one of the best in program history, highlighted by First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors. She led the nation with an average of 7.29 assists per game while her 77 assists tied for the most in Division III, both of which shattered the program's single-season assist record. Maldonado also posted 124 points, an average of 7.29 per game, both ranking fourth across the nation, and broke the program's single-season records. The Hoffman Estates, Ill. native added 47 goals, 24 ground balls, 21 caused turnovers, and a draw control in 17 games. 

Maldonado also earned five CCIW Offensive Player of the Week honors, one IWLCA National Player of the Week nod, and Second Team All-CCIW honors in the 2023 season during her decorated career for the Titans. She finished her career with 229 points, the third-most in program history, 124 assists, the second-most in a career, while her 3.75 points per game and 2.03 assists per game averages are the best in a career in program history. 

Competing as a member of the North Team, Maldonado will be coached by Heather McKay from Messiah University. She will get to play alongside members from Denison University, SUNY Canton, Stevens Institute of Technology, Oglethorpe University, Wesleyan University, SUNY Cortland, Franklin & Marshall College, SUNY Geneseo, Simmons University, Cornell College, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Maine Maritime Academy, St. John Fisher University, York College, Aurora University, Nazareth University, Amherst University, Messiah, and Skidmore College. Maldonado is the lone player from the CCIW. 

The Division III All-Star contest will be the final leg of a tripleheader, as the Division I game will kick off the day at 10 a.m. ET. The Division II All-Star Game is set to begin at 12 p.m. ET, and the Division III All-Star Game will begin at 2 p.m. ET to conclude the day of festivities.
