DiGiovanni Tabbed CCIW Offensive Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse senior Anelise DiGiovanni (Lockport, Ill.-Lockport Township) garnered College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week honors Tuesday, March 31. It is her second weekly award this season, as she pulled in the distinction Feb. 24.

DiGiovanni led the Illinois Wesleyan offense to a 1-1 week as totaled 10 points, an average of five per game. She scored four goals and six assists. The Lockport, Ill. native also led the team with 12 draw controls, an average of six per game, and added five ground balls and four caused turnovers. 

In the loss at No. 20 University of Chicago, Wednesday, March 25, DiGiovanni forced a turnover and added a draw control. The senior rebounded with a dominant performance against Hanover College Sunday, March 29, as she established new career-highs of four goals, 11 draw controls, and five ground balls, while tying her career-bests with 10 points after tallying a team-high six assists, and three caused turnovers.

DiGiovanni and the Titans are back in action Saturday, April 4, as host to North Central College. The 1 p.m. bout will precede the IWU men's lacrosse team's game against NCC.
