Men’s Golf Looks Ahead to CCIW Championship

Three-day event set to take place in Peoria, Ill.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - One day ahead of the start of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Men's Golf Championship the league office announced the results of its pre-championship poll. The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team topped the poll with eight first-place votes and 64 points as the Titans look to claim their 12th straight CCIW Championship.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament is set to take place at WeaverRidge Golf Course in Peoria, Ill. Thursday-Saturday, May 2-4. The tournament begins with 8 a.m. tee times Thursday, May 2, on the par-72, 7030-yard course.

Competing for the Titans will be a familiar lineup in fifth-year Bobby Beaubien (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington), juniors Quinn Clifford (Chicago, Ill.-Brother Rice) and Griffin Pohl (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township), and sophomores Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) and Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central).

The CCIW Championship can be followed through live scoring via Golfstat, while daily updates will be posted to iwusports.com.
