Castro Earns Second Career CCIW Golfer of the Week Award

Earned fourth top-10 of the season at Jekyll Island Intercollegiate

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf sophomore Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Golfer of the Week for the second time in his career, as announced by the league office Wednesday, April 1. It is the fifth consecutive award to be claimed by a Titan this season.

Castro tied for third-place individually at the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate Invitational, March 20-22, leading the Illinois Wesleyan men's golf team to a top-10 finish in one of the most competitive fields in Division III this season. Castro recorded the second-lowest 54-hole total in program history, carding a 12-under total of 204 over three rounds. With individual rounds of 68, 67, and 69, Castro finished in the top-10 for the fourth time this season.

Castro and the Titans return home this weekend Friday-Saturday, April 3-4 for the IWU Invite at Ironwood Golf Course and Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill.
