NORMAL, Ill. – Capping off a three-meet weekend down the road at Illinois State University's Redbird Challenge, the Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams etched six new performances into the program record books Saturday, March 30.

Taking the 5,000-meter field by storm, junior Nick Fisch (Woodridge, Ill.-Montini Catholic) and sophomore Zack Daniel (Lake Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) swept the top-two places in the event as both notched personal-best times. Fisch led the way with a 15:34.01 effort to move into the No. 8 spot in the program's top-10 list while Daniel's 15:35.33 was good for a runner-up finish and ninth in IWU laurels.

Competing in back-to-back days after racing at the Big Blue Alumni Invite Friday afternoon, freshman Reece Dusek turned in the fastest time in the men's 400-meter dash with a personal-best effort of 48.80 seconds. Dusek's time moves him into fourth in program history and currently ranks 19th nationally.

Sophomore Isaac Whitaker (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) finished third in the men's pole vault with a 4.57-meter (15'0") clearance. The young 4-by-400-meter relay quartet of sophomores Jahari Scott (Lake Bluff, Ill.-Lake Forest), Joe Freedman (Libertyville, Ill.-LIbertyville), Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), and freshman Tyrice Bender clocked a 42.02-second time to finish fourth in the event and move into the program's top-10 list at No. 4.

The freshman throwers duo of Loreal Tucker (Herrin, Ill.-Herrin) and Lauryn Moore (Bolingbrook, Ill.-Bolingbrook) each etched their names in the program's all-time top-10 list as Moore finished eighth in the women's shot put with an 11.18-meter (36'8.25") mark that also ranks eighth all-time at IWU. Tucker, who finished ninth in the women's discus throw with a distance of 37.14m, (121'10") has the 10th-best throw in program history.

Senior Lauren Wong (Morton, Ill.-Morton) turned in the only top-five finish on the women's side in the triple jump with a leap of 11.18m (36'8.25").

IWU heads to Crawfordsville, Ind. next Saturday, April 6 for the Hunstman Family Invitational hosted by Wabash University inside Little Giant Stadium.
