MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams capped off their spring break trip in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with eight top-20 performances at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational inside Doug Shaw Stadium.

Sophomore Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) etched his name in IWU's outdoor record books, tying for the second-fastest time in the men's 400-meter dash with a 48.14-second effort to place second overall at the invitational. Matching his indoor personal best effort of 4.71m (15'5.50") in the pole vault, sophomore Isaac Whitaker (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) jumped into the No. 2 spot in program history as he finished fourth in Saturday's competition. 

Junior Alex Harvey (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) clocked a 57.34-second run in the men's 400m hurdles to finish eighth out of 34 competitors. Freshman Matt Lindberg (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) was the lone Titan in the men's high jump as he cleared 1.93 meters (6'4") to earn 10th place. 

On the women's side, sophomore Jordynn Griffin (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) turned in a pair of top-20 performances in the women's 400m and 200m dashes. Griffin recorded a 1:00.07 effort in the 400m to finish 14th overall before clocking a 25.82-second run in the 200m to place 18th out of 96 competitors. 

Sophomore Abby Quinn (Chicago, Ill.-Marist) ran a 12:13.72 in the women's 3000m for a 19th-place finish while sophomore Brooke Nazos (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia) turned in the Titans final top-20 performance in the women's mile with a 5:40.46 finishing time. 

IWU will take a two-week break from competition before heading to Decatur, Ill. For the Millikin Alumni Invite Saturday, March 30.
