Scott & Lowder Lead IWU at IUPUI Invitational

Sophomore duo posts top-20 finishes

INDIANAPOLIS -
A small contingent of the Illinois Wesleyan University men's track and field team kicked off the weekend at the IUPUI Invitational at Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis Friday, Jan. 26.


In the 60m dash, sophomore Jahari Scott (Lake Bluff, Ill.-Lake Forest) clocked in with a preliminary time of 7.13 to finish third in his heat. Scott ultimately placed 18th, besting opposition from NCAA Division I, II, and III.

Rounding out the day for the Titans was sophomore Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), who recorded an 18th-place finish in the 200m dash. He clocked in with a time of 22.50, bettering his best and marking the fifth-fastest in IWU laurels. Scott took 28th (23.19) and freshman Tyrice Bender claimed 30th (23.26) in the field of 46 runners.

Illinois Wesleyan will finish out competition at IUPUI tomorrow, Jan. 27, while a larger group of Titans will compete at the Spartan Shootout in Dubuque, Iowa.
