Men’s Golf Completes Third-Round Play at NCAA Championship

Titans 10th ahead of final round

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team completed third round play at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship Thursday, May 18, turning in a 305 on the par-72, 6974-yard Champion Trace Golf Course at Keene Trace Golf Club. IWU currently ranks 10th with a 54-hole total of 885 (285-295-305).

No. 3 Methodist sits atop the standings after carding a 291 to push its total to 864. Seventh-ranked Piedmont is in second, four strokes off the lead with an 868. RPI surged three spots to move into third following a 292 to push its tournament total to 870. Individually, Christopher Newport's Robb Kinder holds the top-spot at 211 after carding a two-under 70 Thursday.

Senior Bobby Beaubien (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) continued to lead the Titans, firing an even-par 72. He sits tied for second, one stroke off the lead, at 212.

The final round is scheduled for tomorrow, May 19, and will see the Green and White in the first flights of the day. IWU will tee off beginning at 8 a.m. alongside Washington & Lee and Trinity.
