Beaubien Holds Share of Lead Midway Through NCAA Championship

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. - The 12th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team carded a four-over par Wednesday, May 17, on the par-72, 6974-yard Keene Trace Golf Club's Champion Trace Course in round two of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship. Senior Bobby Beaubien (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) continues to hold a share of medalist honors following his one-over 73.

Illinois Wesleyan sits tied for seventh with 36 holes complete at 580. The Titans are tied with No. 4 Guilford (297-283=580). Third-ranked Methodist and No. 7 Piedmont are tied atop the team standings at 573, seven strokes ahead of IWU. Fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon, No. 2 Christopher Newport, and 14th-ranked St. John's (Minn.) are tied for third at 577.

The Green and White's best round of the day came from sophomore Griffin Pohl (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township), who fired an even-par 72. He currently sits tied for 76th.
