HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team wrapped up the 2022-23 season with a top-15 finish at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championship Friday, May 12. The Titans finished tied for 12th with a 54-hole total of 983 (327-326-330) on the ever so difficult par-73, 5823-yard El Campeon Course at Mission Inn Resort and Golf Club.

Junior Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) led the Titans throughout all three rounds, and that was no different Friday. The junior, in her third career NCAA Tournament appearance, fired IWU's best round of the tournament with a five-over 78 to finish tied for 22nd (79-80-78=237). Her finish is the highest by a Titan at the national tournament since Riley Loux tied for 22nd in 2018, coincidentally doing so at the same course this year's event took place at.

George Fox claimed the team title at 933 with rounds of 318, 311, and 304. WashU climbed into second place with a round of 299 on the final day, the best round of the tournament, to finish five strokes off the lead at 938 (319-320-299). Claremont-Mudd-Scripps rounded out the top-three (321-313-309=943). WashU's Annie Mascot used an outstanding final round of five-under 68 to claim the individual national title at 224 (78-78-68).
