Women's Golf in Second Ahead of Final Round at WashU Spring Invite

Two Titans in top-10 individually

CRESCENT, Mo. - With one round down and one to go, the 16th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team sits in second place at the Washington University in St. Louis Spring Invitational played at Crescent Farms Golf Club. The Titans carded an opening round 314 on the par-72, 5840-yard course, with two players sitting in the top-10 individually.

Third-ranked WashU holds an eight-stroke lead on IWU with a first round 306. The Bears were led by Sydney Kuo's even-par 72, which leads the 76-player field. No. 10 St. Catherine is third at 324 and IWU's 'B' team is 10th with a 347.

Junior Lexi Onsrud (Normal, Ill.-University High) fired a two-over 74 and is two strokes off medalist honors in second. Fellow junior Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) is tied for sixth with a 77.

Final round play is scheduled for tomorrow, April 2, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
