Box Score
WOOSTER, Ohio - Playing through strong winds for the majority of the game did not help the Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team, as the Titans (3-7) fell to the College of Wooster, 26-7, Saturday, March 25.

The Green and White offense was led by sophomore Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North) and junior Britney Maldonado (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant), who each notched a hat trick in the match. Freshman Devon Hanson (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha West) had a goal and an assist.

On the defensive side, senior Julia Raczykowski (Minooka, Ill.-Minooka Community) had a team-best two caused turnovers, followed by Fiandaca and senior Sarah Gleason (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South), who each caused one. Senior Jennie Hubbard (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles East) scooped up a team-high three ground balls, while Fiandaca had a pair.

Senior Rebecca Rymarcsuk (Lake Zurich, Ill.-Lake Zurich Senior) was credited with the loss, falling to 0-3 on the season. In 35 minutes between the posts, Rymarczuk recorded 12 saves while allowing 14 goals.

After Wooster jumped out to a 2-0 lead, Hanson found the back of the net for IWU's first goal with 7:14 remaining in the first quarter. Less than 30 seconds later, Maldonado tied the game at two apiece as she recorded her first goal of the match.

Wooster rattled off three straight goals before the Titans brought the game to within two, as Gleason dished a pass to Maldonado, who spun around her defender and buried her shot to bring the score to 5-3 with 10:59 remaining in the first half.

After a quick response from Wooster, Fiandaca capitalized on a pass from Hanson to bring the score to 6-4 in favor of the Fighting Scots with 6:58 left to play in the second period. It would be the closest the Titans would get, as Wooster used eight straight goals to help secure a 26-7 win.

The Titans return to action Friday, March 31, against the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. It will be the first time since March 8 that IWU will get to play on its home turf.
