NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse squad reeled in a total of six academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, announced by the organization Wednesday, July 22. Fifth-year Bri Kiser (Crown Point, Ind.-Crown Point), seniors Carleigh Fountain (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) and Sarah Riepe (Aurora, Ill.-St. Francis), as well as juniors Sydney Gragert (Odell, Ill.-Pontiac Township) and Carolyn Meyer (Roselle, Ill.-James B. Conant) were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, while the team earned Academic Squad honors. 

Fountain and Riepe repeat as honorees, while the rest of the group earns the accolade for the first time in their careers. It is the most Titans to receive the award since six earned the honor in 2021. Additionally, IWU claims Academic Squad honors for the fifth consecutive season, having earned it every year since it began in 2021. It is the ninth team academic award in 10 seasons, having received an accolade every season except for 2020, as the Titans were named an IWLCA ZAG Sports Academic honoree from 2016-19.

The IWLCA Honor Roll recognizes junior, senior, and graduate student-athletes that have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. In total, the IWLCA honored 1,350 student-athletes from 174 institutions at the Division III level.  In order for a program to qualify for the Academic Squad Award, the team must have posted a 3.20 GPA or better for the academic year. Illinois Wesleyan was one of 357 teams across Division I, II, III and NAIA to receive the team award.

An elementary education major, Kiser claimed her first IWLCA honor after boasting a 3.56 GPA. The fifth-year was an everyday starter on defense for the Titans, as she started all 17 games this season. Kiser recorded nine ground balls and six caused turnovers on the year. She posted a season-high of two ground balls, doing so on multiple occasions. The Crown Point, Ind. native also collected Academic All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors, receiving the award for the second straight season.

Fountain claims her second consecutive Academic Honor Roll nod, as she finished her career donning the Green and White with a 3.70 GPA in elementary education. Limited to five games due to injury this season, Fountain made the most of the opportunity, as she recorded two goals and one assist for three points to go along with one ground ball. The Orland Park, Ill. product finished her career ranked tied for third in career woman-up goals (7), sixth in goals per game (1.86), tied for seventh in free-position goals (15), and 10th in points per game (2.36) and goals (93). Along with her two honors from the IWLCA, Fountain has been named Academic All-CCIW three times.

Riepe reels in her second straight Academic Honor Roll accolade, as she finished with a 3.71 GPA in elementary education. The two-year captain for the Titans started all 17 games this season, finishing third on the team in caused turnovers with 29. She recorded 12 goals and two assists for 14 points alongside 39 ground balls, and 36 draw controls.

A two-time College Sports Communications Academic All-District honoree, Riepe also added three Academic All-CCIW accolades and two First Team All-CCIW honors to her successful career at IWU. The Aurora, Ill. native finished her time representing the Titans ranked tied for third in career caused turnovers (95), sixth in caused turnovers per game (1.44), seventh in ground balls (137), ninth in ground balls per game (2.08), tied for ninth in games started (63), and tied for 10th in games played (66).

A biology major on the pre-physical assistant track, Gragert notched a 3.55 GPA to record her first academic honor from the IWLCA. The junior appeared and started in all 17 games for the Titans, recording eight ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Gragert posted season-highs of two ground balls (April 22 vs. Augustana & April 25 at Elmhurst) and two caused turnovers (Feb. 25 vs. Aurora & April 22 vs. Augustana) across her junior campaign, and earned her first Academic All-CCIW accolade.

Meyer appears on the Academic Honor Roll list for the first time in her career after registering a 3.53 GPA as a nursing major. She appeared in three games for the Green and White this season. Meyer also hauled in her first Academic All-CCIW honor. As a team, the Titans achieved a 3.515 GPA for the 2025-26 academic year.

IWU was one of four CCIW institutions to garner the team award, joined by Augustana, Carroll, and North Central. Kiser, Fountain, Riepe, Gragert, and Meyer were five of 22 players in the conference to be named to the Academic Honor Roll.
