Christian & More Secure First Collegiate Victory Against Emerson

Kate Christian and Raji More win at No. 1 doubles

ORLANDO, Fla. - Taking the court for the first time in 2023, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team fell to Emerson College, 8-1, Tuesday, March 14.

The lone win in the match for the Titans (0-10) came at the No. 1 doubles spot, as freshmen Kate Christian (Washington, Ill.-Washington Community) and Raji More (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) used an 8-5 victory to secure their first collegiate win.

Despite the loss, the young Titan squad saw a lot of growth in the match, as Christian and sophomore Liza Matimore (Gurnee, Ill.-Warren Township) each pushed their individual matches to the full three sets.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to action tomorrow for two matches, opening the day against the University of Wisconsin-Superior at 11:30 a.m. ET. The Titans will close out the day with a 6 p.m. ET match against Ohio Wesleyan, which was rescheduled from Monday, March 13. Results will be posted on iwusports.com upon the completion of the match.
