Women’s Tennis Victorious on Senior Day

Titans’ 12 wins are most since 1991

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team wrapped up its 2025-26 season with a 4-3 win against Greenville University Wednesday, April 8 at Evergreen Racquet Club. IWU closes the campaign with its most wins since 1991, finishing 12-6.

In doubles play, freshmen Adia Douglas (Flossmoor, Ill.-Homewood-Flossmoor) and Elana Religioso (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet) breezed by Jaidyn Goode and Lauren Brannon, 6-1 at No. 3 doubles. The top tandem of juniors Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) and Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) secured the point with a 7-5 victory against Irlanda Oliver and Emily Kowalke.

IWU took a 2-0 lead with a pair of 6-1 scores from Douglas over Goode at five singles. Greenville evened the match with wins at two and six singles, but sophomore Katie Van Heuklon (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) put the Green and White on the precipice of clinching with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Kowalke at No. 3 singles. After Greenville evened the match at 3-3, Ehrlich pulled through at No. 1 singles after trailing 4-2 in the third set super-tiebreaker with a 7-5, 1-6, 10-7 win over Oliver.

This marks the end of senior Marianna Arias' (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) IWU career, where she has helped strengthen the program year after year. The Titans are expected to return the rest of their squad for the 2026-27 season.
