CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -
After a strong freshman campaign, Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team earned Second Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors, announced by the league's office Monday, Oct. 30.

She becomes the first Titan under head coach Jason Van Heuklon to receive the accolade, and the first since Lauren Neitzel's first team honor in 2017. Ehrlich also becomes the first freshman for the Green and White to earn All-CCIW status since Neitzel's first team selection in 2016.

Ehrlich came in with an expertise in doubles through high school and quickly took on the role as the No. 1 singles player for the Titans. The Springfield, Ill. native finished with a record of 4-4 in conference play. At No.1 doubles, Ehrlich, alongside fellow freshman Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington), notched a victory in a challenging CCIW slate. Ehrlich became the first Titan named the CCIW's Player of the Week since 2016 after finishing the week of Oct. 2-8 with a perfect 4-0 singles record to extend her win streak to five in singles action.

Sophomore Kate Christian (Washington, Ill.-Washington Community) was Illinois Wesleyan's recipient of the CCIW RESPECT award.
