DECATUR, Ill. - The 15th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team won its second tournament of the season Saturday, Sept. 24, as the Titans dominated the field at the Dechert Classic. The Titans carded a 314 at the par-72 South Side Country Club to finish atop the seven-team standings at 621, as junior Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) grabbed her second individual victory of the year.

Illinois Wesleyan's 'B' team finished runner up at 656 (333-323), while Hanover (685) rounded out the top-three.

Overall, nine Titans placed inside the top-10 in the 45-player field. Thorman led the way with her second win of the season as she finished four-over 148 over 36 holes after shooting a 76 in the final round. Fellow junior Lexi Onsrud (Normal, Ill.-University High) finished runner-up at 157, with sophomore Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) and Jacque O'Neill (Harbor Springs, Ill.-Harbor Springs) tying for third. Ludwig carded an 82 and O'Neill tallied a 79 as the pair finished tied at 159.

Sophomore Jadyn Spinks (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) tied for fifth at 161. Junior Kira Petersen (Parker, Colo.-Chaparral) dropped five strokes off her opening round to turn in a 79 and place seventh. Freshman Brooke Erhard (Champaign, Ill.-St. Thomas More) grabbed the first top-10 finish of her career, placing eighth at 165. Sophomore Kylie Hundman (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) and junior Rachel Ducaji (Springfield, Ill.-Sacred Heart-Griffin) tied for ninth.

The Titans now turn their attention to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship. The three-day tournament is set to take place Oct. 6-8 at Naga-Waukee War Memorial Golf Course in Pewaukee, Wis.
