YORKVILLE, Ill. - The seventh-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team made the most of an early look at the site of the 2023 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship Wednesday, Sept. 21, as the Titans won the CCIW Preview. The Green and White carded a 284 at the par-71, 6828-yard White Tail Ridge Golf Club to best the 14-team field. IWU's 'B' team placed fourth with a 301.

Illinois Wesleyan won the tournament by five strokes over second-place Millikin, while North Park rounded out the top-three. NPU's Max Golding earned medalist honors with a six-under 65.

Overall, IWU saw six Titans finish inside the top-10. No other school had more than three. Leading the way for the Green and White was sophomore Griffin Pohl (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township) with a three-under 68 to finish runner-up. Freshman Jackson Hulsey (St. Charles, Ill.) led the Titan 'B' team with a two-under 69 as he tied for third.

Fresh off a CCIW Men's Golfer of the Week announcement, Bobby Beaubien (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) claimed fifth at one-under 70. Freshman Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln Way Central) placed seventh at one-over, 72. Sophomore Quinn Clifford (Chicago, Ill.-Brother Rice) and junior Jack Bruening (Belleville, Ill.-Althoff Catholic) tied for ninth with 74s.
