Four Inside Top-10 as Women’s Golf in Third After Day One of IWU Fall Classic

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team finds itself four strokes off the lead after day one of play at the IWU Fall Classic at Ironwood Golf Course. The Titans carded an opening round 309 on the par-72, 5835-yard course to sit in third, while IWU's 'B' team is fourth with a 317.

Leading the 15-team pack is the Wisconsin-Whitewater with a first round score of 305. The Warhawks' Ellie Johnson fired an even par and currently leads the player leaderboard with a 72. Central sits second with a 308, followed by IWU.

Junior Lexi Onsrud (Normal, Ill.-University High) posted the low score of the day for the Green and White, finishing three-over. She sits tied for second, three strokes off the lead, with a 75. Fellow juniors Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) and Rachel Ducaji (Springfield, Ill.-Sacred-Heart Griffin) are tied for fourth with a pair of 76s, with Ducaji leading the 'B' team.

Also in the top-10 is sophomore Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony), as she holds a share of sixth at 77.

Final round action is scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start tomorrow, Sept. 18. Live results will be available via GolfStat.
