Final Results

BELOIT, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams traveled north to Beloit, Wis. to compete at the Beloit Relays, hosted by Beloit College, Saturday, April 9. Both squads finished in fourth place, of six teams. The women earned a total of 89 points, while the men manufactured 78 points.

On the women's side, sophomore Tia Hardt (Lexington, Ill.-Lexington) bested the field in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:11.43. Freshman Evelyn Wilson (Geneseo, Ill.-Geneseo) topped the high jump field as she leaped her way to a 1.57 meter jump to claim first place.

Sophomore Jules Grunloh (Towanda, Ill.-Lexington) posted a third-place finish in the 400 meter dash as she crossed the finish line with a time of 1:03.13. Freshman Emma McGrath (Oak Lawn, Ill.-Oak Lawn) saw success for the Green and White. The Oak Lawn, Ill. native clocked in at 2:29.84 in the 800 meter run to give her a well-deserved second-place finish. Also for the Titans, senior Katie Vogler (Quincy, Ill.-Quincy) notched a second-place time of 1:08.35 in the 400 meter hurdles. Junior Kinlee Miller (Tuscola, Ill.-Tuscola) earned a third-place long jump distance of 4.88 meters.

The success continued as sophomore Lauren Wong (Morton, Ill.-Morton) claimed a second-place jump of 10.76 meters in the triple jump competition. In the same event, Miller grabbed third place with her jump of 10.55 meters.

For the men, junior Keondre Schumacher (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) won two events. The Bloomington, Ill. native earned the eighth-fastest time in IWU history with a time of 22.43 in the 200 meter dash. He then won the 100 meter dash as he crossed the finish line with a time of 11.23.

Senior Cole Paraday (Frankfort,Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) topped the javelin field by nearly five meters with this heave of 56.12 meters, to earn another first place victory.

Freshman Ernie Waterson (Bloomington, Ill.-Cornerstone Christian Academy) garnered his first ever collegiate victory by besting the field in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.57.

Adding to his sensational freshman campaign, freshman Luan Ademovski (Elk Grove Village, Ill.-Elk Grove) hurled the winning distance in shot put by besting the field by over a meter with his distance of 14.44 meters.

Sophomore Sam Morris (Elgin, Ill.-Harvest Christian Academy) secured second place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.22. Senior Davis Nguy (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) notched a third place finish in the 110 meter hurdles as he crossed the finish line with a 17.72 clip.

Both teams are scheduled to compete at Illinois State University a week from today, Saturday, April 16. The first event is scheduled for 11 a.m.
