Track and Field Celebrate Seniors as Part of Keck DIII Select Meet

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams honored their 16 seniors prior to hosting the second day of the Keck DIII Select meet Saturday, Feb. 5, inside of the Shirk Center.

The women's team had two top-five finishes on the day. First, freshman Marissa Hagler (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal West) notched a fifth-place finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.81. Additionally, sophomore Lauren Wong (Morton, Ill.-Morton) secured fifth-place with a jump of 10.94 meters in the triple jump competition. 

On the men's side, four athletes finished inside of the top-five. Junior Drew Tatlock (North Pekin, Ill.-Pekin Community) placed fourth in the high jump clearing 1.80 meters. Freshman Luan Ademovski (Elk Grove Village, Ill.-Elk Grove) hurled a distance of 14.61 meters to hold down a fourth-place finish in the shot put. In the 60 meter dash, junior Keondre Schumacher (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) sprinted to a fifth-place finish as he crossed the finish line at 7.04. Finally, senior Brady McMasters (Catlin, Ill.-Salt Fork) sprung to the tune of 5.79 meters in the long jump for a fifth-place finish.

Both teams will be back in action a week from today as hosts of the Titan Open, Saturday, Feb. 12. The Open is scheduled for a 10:15 a.m. start.
