PEWAKUEE, Wis. – The 15th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team opened up a big lead at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship Friday, Oct. 7, putting the Titans in the driver's seat heading into Saturday's final round.
 
The Titans carded a 309 at Naga-Waukee War Memorial Golf Course Friday, to push their 36-hole score to 620 Augustana sits in second, 23 strokes behind IWU, at 643 (315-328). Millikin (325-341=666), Elmhurst (339-346=685), and North Central (350-338=688) round out the top-five.
 
Junior Lexi Onsrud (Normal, Ill.-University High) maintained her stronghold atop the individual leaderboard, firing a two-over 74 to move her total to 151. Onsrud owns a four-stroke advantage on the player leaderboard.
 
Junior Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) climbed up the leaderboard with a two-over 74, the tying Onsrud for the best score of the tournament so far, to move into a tie for third at 156. Sophomore Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) is also tied for third, as she posted a 79 to push her two-day score to 156.
 
Sophomores Jacque O'Neill (Harbor Springs, Mich.-Harbor Springs) and Jadyn Spinks (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) sit tied for eighth and 10th, respectively, while junior Rachel Ducaji (Springfield, Ill.-Sacred Heart-Griffin) is tied for 13th.
