NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team finished tied for eighth among a loaded field at the NCAA Division III Fall Preview Tuesday, Oct. 4. The ninth-ranked Titans carded a final round 302 on the par-72, 6694-yard Champion Trace Golf Course to finish with a 54-hole total of 909.

No. 5 Christopher Newport topped the field with a score of 886, as CNU shot its best round of the tournament at 293. No. 1 ranked Methodist, No. 10 Wittenberg, No. 13 Washington & Lee, and fourth-ranked Carnegie Mellon tied for second at 900. CNU's Alex Price finished the tournament seven-under to earn medalist honors (71-67-61=209).

Leading the way for IWU was sophomore Quinn Clifford (Chicago, Ill.-Brother Rice), who tied for 15th. Clifford and freshman Juney Bai (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln Way-East) each carded final round scores of three-over 75 to lead the Titans in the final day. Clifford's three-over pushed his 54-hole score to 225 (72-78-75=225) and was the lowest of the tournament for the Green and White.

The Titans wrap up the fall portion of their schedule Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 16-18, at the Golfweek Fall Invite in Destin, Fla.
