ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Several Titans took home top honors at the Meet of Champions hosted by Augustana College on Saturday, April 17, while senior Ayana Blair (Wheeling, Ill.-Wheeling) broke the school discus record. Blair, Addison Bendery (Chicago, Ill.-Loyola Academy), Rebekah Harden (Tinley Park, Ill.-Lincoln-Way North), and Zach Anderson (Algonquin, Ill.-Westminster Christian Academy) all claimed individual titles. 
 
On the women's side, Blair was victorious in the discus, throwing a distance of 147'6" to break Shelby Jackson's previous mark of 146'10" set back in 2011.

Bendery bested the field in the 100m dash with a time of 12.13. Senior Kelsey Wyman (Monmouth, Ill.-Monmouth Roseville) claimed second place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.53. Harden claimed victory in the 1500m run, running a 4:40.60. 
 
Claiming second in the long jump, Emma Helferich (Monticello, Ill.-Monticello) recorded a jump of 5.37m.
 
Katie North (Aurora, Ill.-Metea Valley) and Lexie Dorsey (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet-Seymour) both recorded a second place finish in the 5000m and 10000m, respectively. 
 
IWU's 4x400m relay team of Wyman, Bendery, Harden, and Cora Wilkinson (Verona, Ill.-Seneca Township) took second with a time of 3:55.44.
 
On the men's side, Zach Anderson claimed first and second in the hammer throw and shot put, throwing 53.89m and 15.84m, respectively. Samuel Painter (Litchfield, Ill.-Litchfield) jumped 6.69m to claim third place in the long jump. 
 
Outdoor season rolls on for the Titans as they travel to Millikin next Friday, April 24.
