Bowling Makes History with Wins Over North Central

Titans are now 2-6 on the season

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - History was made Saturday, Feb. 6, as the Illinois Wesleyan University bowling team won its first matches in program history at the Bowlero in Naperville, Ill. as the Titans knocked off North Central College. The Titans topped the Cardinals in both a standard and Baker match.

IWU used a balanced effort to knock off NCC and earn its first-ever standard match win, 552-521. Freshman Macy Michorczyk (Franklin Park, Ill.-West Leyden) led the way with a 127, while junior Ashley Cook (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) added a 122. Junior Jade Miller (Chicago, Ill.-Providence St. Mel) and junior Sarah Buchmann (Wilmette, Ill.-New Trier) recorded scores of 109 and 106, respectively. In the Baker match between Illinois Wesleyan and North Central, the Titans came out on top 557-490.

IWU dropped a standard match to Augie, 804-493, in the nightcap. Michorczyk led the way once again, rolling a 132, while Miller added a 118. The Titans were edged by the Vikings, 665-447, in the Baker match.

Illinois Wesleyan competes in week three of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin bowling action next weekend, Feb. 13, in Rock Island, Ill.
