Two Titans in Top-10 at Transylvania Invite

Play suspended late in round two

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The fourth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team carded a round of 290 before round two was suspended early on day one of the Transylvania Invite Saturday, Sept. 5, at University Club of Kentucky. IWU sits fourth in the 17-team field at four-under par.

Leading the Titans after 36 holes are junior Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) and sophomore Ryan Andrews (Libertyville,Ill.-Libertyville), who both rank in the top-10 on the player leaderboard. Castro posted Illinois Wesleyan's low round of the day, a two-under par 70 to sit tied for third. Andrews  is two strokes off his elder teammate in a tie for eighth. 

Trinity (Texas) and Mary Hardin-Baylor lead the way in first and second, respectively. Trinity went 12-under in round one. UMHB posted a four-under opening round. Shenandoah is slotted just above IWU at seven-under. 

Final round action is scheduled for a 10:15 a.m. start time tomorrow, Sept. 6.
