Gelven Grabs Second CCIW Golfer of the Week Award

Third team honor to close the fall season

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - In the Titans' final week of fall play, sophomore Ben Gelven (St. Louis, Mo.-Mary Institute and Country Day School) of the Illinois Wesleyan men's golf team earned his second College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Golfer of the Week award Wednesday, October 26. The honor is Gelven's second of the season and of his career, and the team's third this fall.

Gelven secured the honor with a tie for third place in the Golfweek October Classic in Sandestin, Fla. earlier this month. The St. Louis native posted rounds of 72, 67 and 72 for a career-low of 211. The third-place finish, which helped the Green and White take first as a team, is Gelven's best of the season.

Gelven and the Titans will be back in action this spring for the second half of their season.
