The No. 4 Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf program completed action at the Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational Monday, Sept. 14, hosted by University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Titans placed third in the 22-team field, with the IWU 'B' team taking eighth at Eau Claire Country Club.

Overall, Illinois Wesleyan saw three place inside the top-20 and five inside the top-30. Junior Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) paced the Titans with a third-place finish. Castro carded a final round 72 to finish one-over for the tournament. Sophomore Ben Gelven (St. Louis, Mo.-Mary Institute and Country Day School) snagged his first career top-10 placement, tying for ninth. The second-year matched Castro with a one-over 72 to complete the tournament with a score of 147.

Sophomore Alex Rollman (Cincinnati, Ohio-Turpin) tied for 14th (150), while classmate Ryan Andrews (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) grabbed a share of 23rd-place (151). Freshman Taiki Matsuya (Campbell, Calif.-Westmont) and sophomore Tyler Short (Lake Geneva, Wis.-Big Foot High School) tied for 26th at 152.

Tournament host, UW-Eau Claire topped the field with a 36-hole total of 584. Dubuque used an eight-under 289 to grab second at 593, while IWU placed third with a 594 total. 

The Green and White return to action at the NCAA Preview at Kingsmill Resort & Spa in Williamsburg, Va. Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 21-22.
