Brown & Ogunribido Impress at Last Chance

Each sit in top-12 in women’s triple jump

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's track and field triple jumpers set season-best marks at the Augustana College Midwest Twilight Qualifier Thursday, May 14.

After sitting second in Division III in the event for the majority of the season, junior Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) overtook the top spot in the country in the women's triple jump, posting a season-best mark of 12.51m to win the event.

In the same event, freshman Tori Brown (Glasford, Ill.-Illini Bluffs) saved her best jump for the final attempt, crushing her previous personal-best of 11.69m and cementing herself in the top-15 in Division III. Brown eclipsed the 12-meter mark for the first time in her career, leaping 12.02m. The freshman followed Ogunribido and claimed second. Brown is now third all-time on the program's top-10 list.

The men's 4x400m relay team of senior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), junior Carson Green (Centralia, Ill.-Centralia), sophomore Alex Maas (Heyworth, Ill.-Heyworth), and freshman Dylan Hodges (Sycamore, Ill.-Sycamore) set a season-best time of 3:14.18 to take sixth-place in the event.

The top-22 individuals in Division III in each event will advance to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship, set to be held in La Crosse, Wis. Thursday-Saturday, May 21-23. A full list of qualifying individuals will be released by the NCAA Friday, May 15.
