French Improves National Ranking at Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier

Senior moves into top-15 in Division III

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Senior Taylor French (Romeoville, Ill.-Plainfield East) bettered her national qualifying mark as the Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams wrapped up action on day one of the Augustana College Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier Wednesday evening, May 13.

French took full advantage of the last chance opportunity, throwing a career-best 43.05m in the women's javelin invite. Taking first-place in the event, French threw the fifth-best mark in program history and the 11th-furthest in Division III this season.

Senior Gavin Gonzalez (Mattoon, Ill.-Mattoon) earned fourth-place in the men's javelin, throwing 55.33m. Fellow senior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) ran a season-best time in the women's 1500m, clocking a time of 4:37.53 in her nontraditional event.

Several more Titans take to the track and field tomorrow, May 14, for last chance opportunities in Rock Island, Ill. Live results can continue to be followed here.
