MONMOUTH, Ill. - Senior Isaac Whitaker (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) rewrote the Illinois Wesleyan University track and field record book Thursday afternoon, April 23 as the Titans recorded 12 event wins at Monmouth College's Thursday Night Twilight Meet. In addition, 35 Titans recorded career-best marks.

Whitaker overtook the top spot on the program's outdoor pole vault rankings as he cleared a bar of 4.80m. The previous mark had stood for over 25 years, as Whitaker bested Steve Zimmerman's mark of 4.78 which was set in 2000.

In the men's 4x100m relay, juniors Carson Green (Centralia, Ill.-Centralia) and Cole Marshall (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet Seymour) teamed up with sophomore Nyamedze Maison (Groveland, Ill.-Morton) and freshman Cameron Rask (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) to run the eighth-fastest time in program history, crossing the finish line with the baton in 42.06 and in first place.

Sophomore Kelsey Moore (Arcola, Ill.-Arcola) ran a new personal-best in the women's 100m hurdles to claim first place, running 15.68 in the event. In the women's 400m, fellow sophomore Caroline Hill (Bement, Ill.-Bement) put up a season-best time of 1:01.37 to take home the event win. Sophomore Alex Maas (Heyworth, Ill.-Heyworth) won the men's version of the 400m with a personal-best time of 49.81.

The Titans also swept the 100m dash as Marshall and junior Olivia Skibinski (Peoria, Ill.-Richwoods) recorded personal-bests en route to wins in the men's and women's sprint. Skibinski ran a time of 12.31, which is the sixth-best mark in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin this season. Marshall's time of 10.66 marks the third-fastest time in program history. Rask and Maison were not far behind in the 100m with career-best times of 10.72 and 10.74, respectively, which ranks fourth and fifth on the program's all-time top-10 list.

Senior Joel Weber (Roanoke, Ill.-Roanoke-Benson) and freshman Corrina Fassino (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) won the men's and women's 400m hurdles. Weber ran a personal-best time of 58.59, while Fassino crossed the finish line in 1:07.50. In the open 200m, Skibinski earned her second win of the day with a time of 25.78. On the men's side, Green ran an impressive career-best time of 21.81 which ranks fourth on the program's all-time top-10 list.

In field events, freshman Gwendolyn Boettinger (Palos Park, Ill.-Stagg) had a personal-best jump of 1.66m to earn runner-up honors. Boettinger's jump currently ranks top in the CCIW and in the top-15 in Division III.

In throws, senior Gavin Gonzalez (Mattoon, Ill.-Mattoon) continued his dominant senior season with a javelin throw of 57.67m which marks his second consecutive meet win. Fellow senior Taylor French (Romeoville, Ill.-Plainfield East) won the women's javelin with a personal-best throw of 42.08m. With the career-best mark, French moves into the top-15 in Division III in the women's javelin.

Junior Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) is scheduled to compete in the women's triple jump at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa tomorrow, April 24, while the majority of the Titans will head to Decatur, Ill. for the Big Blue Alumni Invitational.
