Lahart Leads Men’s Golf at Butts Classic

Ten Titans sit in the top-20

DECATUR, Ill. - Ten Titans sit in the top-20 on the individual leaderboard as the No. 9 Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team wrapped up a 36-hole day Monday, April 20 at the Butts Classic hosted by Millikin University. The IWU 'B' squad leads the tournament with a two-round total of six-under 570 at the par-72, 6,589-yard Country Club of Decatur, while the Titan 'A' squad is in second-place with a total score of two-over 578.

Senior Myles Lahart (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) leads the Titan 'B' squad and the individual leaderboard after impressive rounds of four-under (68) and two-under (70). Lahart's first round ties his career-low as he leads the tournament by six shots headed into the final 18 holes.

Senior Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central) and freshman Alex Rollman (Cincinnati, Ohio-Turpin) sit tied for third-place individually, following scores of 144 through 36-holes. Rollman and fellow freshman Kasey May (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) joined Lahart as the only Titans to break-70 as the freshman duo carded career-best three-under 69s in round two.

The Titan 'B' team recorded the low round of the day in the second 18 holes, carding an eight-under 280 to jump into the team lead. The IWU 'B' squad (570) leads the Titan 'A' team (578) by eight strokes. Heartland and Carthage are deadlocked in third-place at nine-over par (585).

A shotgun start for the final 18 holes is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at the Country Club of Decatur. Live scoring can continue to be followed here.
