Men’s Golf Leads Cochran Collegiate After 36 Holes

Spitzer lights up individual leaderboard, leads by four

CORDOVA, Tenn. - The No. 8 Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team leads after 36-holes at the Cochran Collegiate Monday, April 13 held at the par-72, 7,097-yard Colonial Country Club. Following a first round one-under 287, the Titans followed up with an eight-over 296 to lead host Rhodes by 13 strokes headed into the final round.

Senior Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central) and sophomore Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) sit one-two on the individual leaderboard. Spitzer fired a first-round five-under 67 and followed with an even-par 72 to lead by four strokes over Castro. The sophomore is in runner-up position following a one-under, two-round total of 143.

The Titan team posted a 36-hole total of 583 which leads host Rhodes College by 13 strokes. Mississippi University for Women is in third-place following a 613 two-round total.

The Titans look to cap off their third team title of the season in the final 18 holes tomorrow, April 14. Live results can continue to be followed here.
