FORT WORTH, Texas - The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams completed action at the TCU Alumni Invitational, contested Saturday, March 21, at the Lowdon Track & Field Complex in Fort Worth, Texas. The competition was the first of the outdoor season for the Titans.

Freshman Mallory Short (Lincoln, Ill.-Lincoln) posted a career-best time in the women's 400m, earning a top-20 finish in the event. Short's time of 58.06 was good for 16th-place. 

Sophomore Kelsey Moore (Arcola, Ill.-Arcola) also posted a top-20 finish, running a time of 1:10.87 in the women's 400m hurdles. Moore finished in 20th-place. In the women's triple jump, sophomore Sarah Polley (Evanston, Ill.-Evanston Township) leaped 9.72m, which was good for 13th-place. 

On the men's side, sophomore Cole Marshall (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet Seymour) ran a personal-best time in the men's 100m in his first outing of the outdoor season. Marshall ran the sprint in 10.85, which placed him 30th in the event.

IWU returns to action in the Midwest next weekend, Thursday-Saturday, March 26-28 for the WashU Distance Carnival, Redbird Challenge, and Big Blue Alumni Invite. Links to follow can be found on the track and field page of iwusports.com
