NAPERVILLE, Ill.- With the 2026 season on the horizon, the Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team was pegged second in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin coaches poll, released by the league office Friday, Feb. 6.
Following its CCIW regular season title, the Green and White accounted for 57 points and two first place votes. The Titans snuggled in behind North Central College who accumulated 62 points, including six of the nine first-place votes. Millikin rounded out the top three, snatching one first-place vote en route to 49 total points.Â
Augustana fell into fourth with 39 points, five ahead of North Park (35) in fifth place. Carthage was tabbed sixth (33) followed by Wheaton (22) who sits in seventh place. Tied for eighth was Carroll and Elmhurst, each tallying 14 points.
Along with the conference preseason poll, IWU also tallied nine votes in the American Baseball Coaches Association Preseason Poll. The aforementioned NCC and MU also garnered votes in the ABCA poll.
Illinois Wesleyan will open the season on a 14-game road-trip starting with Greenville University Friday, Feb. 20, in a three-game set. First pitch at Robert E. Smith Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.Â
