Crabtree Claims Second Career Track Athlete of the Week Award

Broke program record in the mile

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University women's track and field senior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) used an indoor program record to claim her second career College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin track athlete of the week honor, announced by the organization Wednesday, Feb. 4. She is the first Titan women's runner to earn the track athlete honor this season.

Crabtree broke the program's indoor record in the mile, finishing 16th in the primarily Division I field at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational Saturday, Jan. 31. Crabtree, who ran a career-best time of 4:54.60, broke Erin McCarey's record of 4:59.29 set in 2016. Crabtree currently sits fifth in Division III and first in the CCIW by a nearly 20 second margin.

Crabtree and the Titans return home for the Keck DIII Select Invitational Friday-Saturday, Feb. 6-7 inside the Shirk Center indoor track. Multi events begin Friday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m. with regular field events to start Saturday, Feb. 7 at 10:45 a.m. and running events to follow at 11:30 a.m.
