BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track & field teams earned eight event wins on Saturday, Feb. 28 inside the Shirk Center to wrap up the 2026 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Indoor Track & Field Championships. Both squads earned third-place from a team perspective, as the men's team garnered 86 points, while the women's team earned 94.33.

The Titans garnered 19 All-CCIW selections on Saturday in addition to the six individual and two relay champions. In total throughout the two-day championship, 26 Titans earned all-conference honors, while three relays and seven individual titles.

Senior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) earned the CCIW's Track Student-Athlete of the Meet award after her two-event win day. Crabtree is the first Titan to claim top honors among women's track student-athletes since Tara Clemens did so in 2013. Freshman Gwendolyn Boettinger (Palos Park, Ill.-Stagg) additionally earned one of the CCIW's specialty awards, reeling in CCIW First-Year Field Athlete of the Year award after her runner-up finish in the women's high jump.

On the final day of the league championship, the Titans saw Crabtree, senior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), juniors Mackenzie Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) and Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park), sophomore Jacob Pinkston (Tinley Park, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) stand atop the podium, along with the men's and women's 4x400m relay teams.

Crabtree's victory, her second of the championship after running the final leg of IWU's DMR Friday night, came in the mile. The senior was the lone harrier to crack five minutes, crossing the finish line in 4:58.64. Crabtree also notched a win in the 3000m, besting the field by over 10 seconds. Her three event wins throughout the championship helped her earn highest regards among women's track student-athletes.

Lowder defended his title in the 400m race, winning with a time of 48.40 to etch his name into the conference record book. Lowder led three of his Titan teammates into All-CCIW honors in the same event. Topping the podium for the fourth consecutive year, Lowder is the first student-athlete in program history to do so in any event as well as the first male to do so in CCIW laurels.

The Titans swept the men's and women's 800m race, as Pinkston and Huber each earned their first career CCIW titles. In the men's race, Pinkston stayed in the middle of the pack until the last lap. With an unbelievable kick at the end of the race, Pinkston became the first Titan to claim a CCIW indoor 800m title, crossing the finish line in personal-best fashion, 1:55.69.

Huber, who ran a similar race to Pinkston, posted a time of 2:13.67 to earn her third CCIW title of the two-day championship. Huber also notched victories as part of the distance medley relay and 4x400m relays.

After already earning All-CCIW honors in the women's long jump on Friday, Ogunribido earned first-place in the triple jump Saturday. Posting a mark of 12.19m, Ogunribido now owns the top mark in CCIW Championship history, as she beat Abigail Calhoun's jump of 12.05m set last season. The title is her second CCIW indoor triple jump championship.

Finally, the men's and women's 4x400m relays teams each earned conference championships. The men's squad of Lowder, junior Carson Green (Centralia, Ill.-Centralia), sophomore Alex Maas (Heyworth, Ill.-Heyworth), and freshmen Dylan Hodges (Sycamore, Ill.-Sycamore) crossed the finish line in 3:21.91, which beat out the North Central team by just four seconds.

Meanwhile, the women's team consisting of seniors Jordynn Griffin (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), Bella Gonzalez (Itasca, Ill.-Lake Park), Huber, and freshman Mallory Short (Lincoln, Ill.-Lincoln) claimed top honors in the women's relay. With a time of 3:56.20, Huber's last leg of the relay also bested the Cardinals of North Central.

Several Titans will participate in Last Chance meets next weekend, Saturday, March 6, while the 2026 NCAA Division III National Championship is set to be contested Friday-Saturday, March 13-14 in Birmingham, Alabama.
