TIFFIN, OHIO. - Sophomore Alivia Davey (Ripon, Wis.-Berlin) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's wrestling team went 3-0 on the second day of NCAA Regionals to qualify for the inaugural Women's Wrestling National Championship for the second time in her collegiate career.

Davey began her day with a 11-0 technical fall over Hiram's Emily Lorenzon in the consolation quarterfinals. In the consolation semis, she scored two second period points to complete a comeback, 2-1, win over Mickaela Keane of Northern Michigan to advance to the third-place match.

In a rematch against Manchester's Isabel Anaya, the sophomore earned two first period takedowns to lead 4-1 at the end of the first. In the second, another pair of takedowns put Davey ahead 8-2. A four-point takedown from Anaya cut it to 8-6 with 11 seconds left, but it was not enough.

Davey advances to the first-ever NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships slated for Mar. 6-7 in Coralville, Iowa.
