Lowder Collects Second CCIW Weekly Honor of the Season

Set all-time CCIW record in indoor 400m

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University men's track and field senior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) earned his sixth career College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Track Athlete of the Week honor, as announced by the league office, Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Lowder set the CCIW all-time indoor record in the 400m invitational division at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet Friday, Feb. 13. Lowder crossed the finish line in 47.56, coming in second in the race, and beat out the previous league record of 47.70 set in 2019 by North Central College's Peyton Piron. The mark sits Lowder comfortably in the top-10 in Division III, currently ranking fifth in the nation in the event.

Lowder and the Titans are set to compete in one final regular season meet of the indoor season Friday, Feb. 20. The Friday Night Tri inside the Shirk Center is set to begin with field events at 4:30 p.m. and running events to follow at 5 p.m.
