Men’s Hoops Ascends to 13th in D3hoops Poll

Titans bump up three spots

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball cracked back into the top-15 of the latest D3hoops.com Top-25 poll released Monday night, Feb. 16. The Titans jumped three spots and sit 13th as one of two College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin schools to make the list.

Illinois Wesleyan earned the program's 213th all-time ranking, the eighth-most since the poll began in 1999-2000. The Titans edged out Millikin University, 53-52, on the road, Feb. 11, to advance to 19-4 on the season and 11-3 in league play. 

The Green and White reeled in 341 points. CCIW foe Carthage College joined the Titans in the poll, returning to the rankings at No. 22. The Firebirds had been ranked as high as No. 6 in the early part of the season. 

Montclair State remained atop the listing with 12 first-place votes and 585 points. Randolph-Macon held steady at No. 2 with 581 points, while Trinity (Conn.), St. Thomas (Texas), and Emory rounded out the top-five. 

Illinois Wesleyan finishes out the regular season on the road this week with games at North Park University (Feb. 18) and Augustana College (Feb. 21).
