MONMOUTH, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track teams capped off its weekend at the Roger Haynes Invitational hosted by Monmouth College Saturday, Feb. 14. The Titans captured wins from the women's 4x400 and junior Reece Dusek (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap)  in the 400m.

After a strong start to the weekend yesterday at the GVSU Big Meet, more Titans laced up for their turn at competition recording 16 top-five finishes in Monmouth, Ill. IWU tasted its first win of the day in the 400 meter, Dusek took care of business, topping the 13-participant field with a time of 50.12. Along with Dusek, Illinois Wesleyan finished with two more runners in the top five. A pair of juniors in Carson Green (Centralia, Ill.-Centralia) and Alex Maas (Heyworth, Ill.-Heyworth) ensued Dusek, as Green placed second crossing the line at 51.15, with Maas following suit in fourth place a second behind him at 52.41.

The Green and White collected another win in the relays thanks to the women's 4x400m. The team, composed of senior Bella Gonzalez (Itasca, Ill.-Lake Park), sophomore Caroline Hill (Bement, Ill.), freshman Corrina Fassino (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) and senior Jordynn Griffin (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) scored a time of 4:01.47. That same group brought home second in the women's 4x200m to cap off an impressive relay day for the fab four.

On the flip side, the men's 4x200m relay of seniors Joel Weber (Roanoke, Ill.-Roanoke-Benson) and Danny Crawford (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Sant Viator), junior Noah Sadowski (Burr Ridge, Ill.-Hinsdale South) and Maas ran to a third place finish with a time of 1:31.82.

The freshman duo, made up of freshmen Cassidy Madden (Yorkville, Ill.-Yorkville) and Summer Clark (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic), tied for second place in the women's high jump. Madden and Clark both cleared the bar at 1.48 meters. On the men's side of the high jump, freshman Justin Moon (Wyanet, Ill.-Bureau Valley) recorded a top-five finish with a height of 1.75.

Long jump proved successful for the Titans as well, recording a pair of top-five finishes on both the men's and women's sides. Green continued his strong season as he handled a competitive 16-man field to finish second with a leap of 6.84. Sophomore Sarah Polley (Evanston, Ill.-Evanston Township) hauled in the other top-five finish with a height of 4.93m, finishing fourth on the women's side.
