NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University women's track and field freshman Gwendolyn Boettinger (Hickory Hills, Ill.-Stagg) was dubbed the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday, Jan. 21. It is the first weekly honor of her career.

In just her second collegiate meet donning the Green and White, Boettinger improved her career-best high jump mark to 1.65m at the Coach Shoe Invitational Saturday, Jan. 17. Clearing a height of 5'5", Boettinger claimed victory in the event and moved up to third on the program's all-time top-10 list. In the national ranks, she remained steady at eighth in Division III. Boettinger is one of two freshmen to be ranked in the top-10 nationally.

She is the first Titan since Imani Ogunribidio on Feb. 7, 2024 to be named CCIW Indoor Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Week in their freshman campaign.

Boettinger and the Titans hit the road for the first time this season for the Aurora Grand Prix in Chicago Ill. Saturday, Jan. 24.
