BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The eighth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team heads south to Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. for the Division III Preview this Sunday-Tuesday, Sept. 21-23. The site of the 2026 Division III National Championship, the Titans will play the 6856-yard Las Colinas course at Mission Inn Resort and Club on Sunday and conclude the tournament at the 6750-yard El Campeon course Monday and Tuesday.
The Titans are coming off of a 1-2 finish by Illinois Wesleyan's 'A' and 'B' squads at the Wrigglesworth Invite, hosted by UW-Eau Claire Sunday-Monday, Sept, 14-15. Senior Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West) was the Titans' top finisher, claiming a second-place finish. Fellow senior Myles Lahart (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) is the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's reigning Golfer of the Week after his second-place finish and career-best 36-hole score at the Carthage Firebird Fall Classic on Sept. 8-9.
In the most recent edition of the Golf Coaches Association of America Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll released on Friday, Sept. 19, Illinois Wesleyan was slotted in the eight spot. Sewanee captured the No. 1 spot, while Carnegie Mellon, Washington and Lee, Oglethorpe, and Huntingdon rounded out the top-five. The full list of rankings can be found below.
Illinois Wesleyan will take the senior trio of Healy, Lahart, and Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central), along with sophomore Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) and freshman Jared Code (Calgary, Alberta, Canada-Ernest Manning) to the 54-hole tournament.
The field includes the top-15 teams in the country, and 20 out of the top-25 programs. The eighth-ranked Titans will be in an elite field that includes: No 1. Sewanee, No. 2 Carnegie Mellon, No. 3 Washington and Lee, No. 3 Oglethorpe, No. 5 Huntingdon, No. 6 Emory, No. 7 Methodist, No. 9 Aurora, No. 10 Kenyon, No. 11 LeTourneau, No. 12 Trinity, No. 13 Lynchburg, No. 14 Pomona-Pitzer, No. 15 Southwestern, No. 16 Redlands, No. 19 Gettysburg, No. 20 Guilford, No. 22 Rochester, No. 23 Berry, Gustavus Adolphus, Penn State Altoona, Hampden-Sydney, and UW-Eau Claire.
