INDIANAPOLIS – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams had five individuals qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships in Geneva, Ohio next Thursday-Saturday, May 22-24. The NCAA announced its official qualifiers list Friday night, May 16.

Junior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) qualifies for his fourth national championship in the men's 400-meter, having qualified for both indoor and outdoor championship meets the past two seasons. Lowder has had an impressive junior campaign so far this season and earned his qualifying mark by way of an Illinois Wesleyan and a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin record-setting time of 46.55 seconds at the Uncaged Eagle Open last Friday, May 9. Lowder became the first Titan in school history to run the 400m in under 47 seconds, and his time ranks tied for 25th in Division III all-time. The junior enters the national meet as the No. 5 seed.

Sophomore Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) will also make her fourth appearance at a national championship. Ogunribido punched her ticket at the CCIW Championships, May 3, with a school and meet record mark in the triple jump. The sophomore's 12.57m (41'3") ranks 12th all-time in Division III and is the fourth-best jump heading into the championships.

A school record in the women's hammer throw early in the season locked in a qualifying spot for senior Carlyssa King (Decatur, Ill-Forsyth-Maroa). Next weekend will mark the third nationals meet for King after qualifying in the hammer throw last outdoor season and in the weight throw indoors back in March. King's throw of 53.94m (177'0") ranks 11th in the field.

Senior Lauren Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) qualifies for her first national championship as she owns the No. 11 seed in the women's heptathlon. Huber, who joined the track team late following the Titan basketball season, quickly found her niche in the multi event, scoring 4821 points at the Gibson Invitational, April 17, to move up to second in IWU history.

Junior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) makes her return to the track and field national stage for the first time since the 2024 Indoor Championships when she raced the women's mile. Crabtree earned her nationals spot in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:45.97 at the CCIW Championships, May. 3. The junior has already experienced a national field in the steeplechase, having qualified for the 2023 championships in the event as a freshman.

Illinois Wesleyan's first event of the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships will be the heptathlon that will kickoff on Thursday, May 22 at 12:30 p.m. ET and will continue into Friday with an 11 a.m. ET start time. The 3k steeple prelims will be Thursday at 7:35 p.m. ET. The 400m prelims are slated for Friday at 3 p.m. ET with steeplechase finals at 4:55 p.m. ET. Saturday's competition will kick off with the hammer throw at 11 a.m. ET. followed by the triple jump at 1:45 p.m. ET. The 400m finals will run Saturday as well at 2:10 p.m. ET.
