Track and Field Concludes Fighting Chance Meet

Titans look to one final week of last chance meets

JOLIET, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams finished out the second day of the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Chance Invite, Saturday, May 10 at Joliet Memorial Stadium. 

Senior Lauren Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) opened Saturday with a personal-best in the women's 100m hurdles of 16.55 seconds, good for a 15th-place finish in the preliminary round. Huber's best jump in the long jump came on her third attempt, a 4.76m (15'7'50") leap that earned her 22nd place in the field.

Junior Zack Daniel (Lake Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) posted a 4:07.32 time in the men's 1500m to finish sixth in the 39-person field. Sophomore Aidan Nishimura (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Hersey) clocked a 2:06.78 in the men's 800m as he finished 49th overall.

Illinois Wesleyan looks ahead of one more week of last chance meets before the NCAA Division III Track and Field Outdoor Championships, May 23-25.
