NAPERVILLE, Ill. - A day removed from being named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Year, senior Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North) was named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week Wednesday morning, April 30. The senior collects her second weekly accolade of the season, previously earning it March 4, and the sixth in her decorated career.

Fiandaca led the Titans to a 1-0 week with a 20-4 win over Elmhurst University Saturday, April 26, to put an emphasis on Senior Day. Playing her last regular season game inside Tucci Stadium, Fiandaca put on a show, finishing with five goals for five points, eight caused turnovers, five ground balls, and four draw controls, all while committing no turnovers herself.

The game saw her break the program's single-season caused turnovers record, as she broke the previous record of 50 set just a season ago. She enters Wednesday's CCIW Tournament Semifinal contest needing seven caused turnovers to break the program's career record.

Fiandaca and the Titans travel to Kenosha, Wis., for a bout with Carthage College Wednesday night, April 30. Action is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Art Keller Field.
