Lowder Named CCIW Track Athlete of the Week

Fourth weekly honor of junior’s career

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University men's track and field junior sprinter Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Track Athlete of the Week, Wednesday, April 16.

The junior turned in a 47.70-second effort and finished third in the men's 400-meter at Illinois State University's The Normal Invite Saturday, April 12. Lowder leads the conference in the event and ranks 15th in Division III this season.

Lowder also anchored the winning 4-by-400m relay alongside teammates Carson Green, Reece Dusek, and Alex Harvey. The quartet clocked a 3:15.56 against the Division I field – a time that ranks No. 4 in IWU's program history. The relay ranks 16th nationally and is the fastest time in the CCIW by nearly three seconds.

Illinois Wesleyan heads to Indiana State University this weekend for the Gibson Invitational Thursday-Saturday, April 17-19.
