JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. -
Round two of the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational concluded Saturday, March 22, with the fourth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team sitting tied for sixth in the 30-team field with 18 holes to play. The Titans carded a 299 on the par-72, 6700-yard course and have two inside the top-20 in the 150-player leaderboard.


Senior Griffin Pohl (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township) carded a one-under 71 and is in second-place, two strokes off the lead. Junior Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central) turned in a 72, finishing even on the day, and holds a share of 14th.

Emory and Sewanee are tied for the lead with 36-hole totals of 574, while Huntingdon is third at 577. Methodist sits fourth with a score of 578, while Redlands rounds of the top-five (580). IWU is tied for sixth with a score of 583 alongside Lynchburg and No. 2 Washington & Lee. Jonas De Leon of Redlands leads the field at nine-under.

In the individual tournament, junior Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) stands atop the leaderboard with a six-stroke cushion. Bai fired a one-under 71 to put his two-day score at 140, four-under par.
