Women’s Bowling Ends Season at the Music City Classic

Titans take 31st overall at the Tournament

SMYRNA, Tenn. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's bowling team competed in its last tournament of the 2024-24 season, Friday-Sunday, March 14-16, in the Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tenn. The host, Vanderbilt University, took first place, while the Titans finished in 31st place. 

Junior Kiera Henderson (Silvis, Ill.-United Township) placed 103rd overall, individually, bowling a total pinfall of 734 in five games. Her highest scored game was game five with 161 pins. 

Freshman Sapphire Bankston-Hunter (North Chicago, Ill. Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart) placed 124th overall, improving her overall total to 588, with her highest game score being a 145, just one pin away from her personal-best in a single game. 

Not far behind was freshman Neveah Porter (Appleton, Wis.-Appleton West), who placed 132nd. Porter's total pinfall on five games was 523 with her third game being a career-high of 126.

Coming in 144th and 154th were sophomores Bella Horvath (Glenview, Ill.-New Trier) and Joanna Steven (Chicago, Ill.-Kings College Prep). Horvath came away with a total of 492, while Steven finished with a total pinfall of 444. 

The Titans went 0-10 in baker and traditional play, facing Emmanuel University, Wichita State University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Oklahoma Christian Unviersity, Quincy University, University of Indianapolis, Howard University, and Maryville Unviersity. The closest game the Titans have played all year was against Quincy where the Hawks beat the Titans by 95 pins. 

The Titans end its 2024-25 season returning its entire roster for next year's season.
